Only a basic e-mail account is needed to receive material from the following services. A message e-mailed to the 'listserv' address will be forwarded to all subscribers should you wish
to contribute. Commands and names may be case-sensitive.
To subscribe, send e-mail to the 'subscribe' address as follows:
leave the subject line blank and send this one-line message ...
subscribe listname forename surname
for example: subscribe elsnet gregory forsythe.
If your e-mail software is set to automatically append a .SIG file to your outgoing e-mails then you might find that this feature causes your messages to be rejected by the automated processor.
Subscribing to a list is usually processed automatically and does not involve any additional payment. When you apply to subscribe, your subscription confirmation will include instructions on how to unsubscribe or signoff. Keep this message for possible future use. You should also find directions about getting a file of search instructions for using e-mail to search the listserv databases.
You can customise the mail service by sending an e-mail with one of the instructions listed below as the message. If the system cannot understand your message then a help page will very likely be sent instead. One can often get the best results by sending an irrelevent word such as 'QWERTY' or 'MILK' and thus get the 'help page.'

Unsubscribing does not always take place immediately and you may continue to receive material for a short while after requesting to be unsubscribed.
